Left 4 Dead - Game Review

If there is one developer I love it is Valve, their games are cunning and witty. Left 4 dead is a shooter, a zombie shooter that is and a good one too. It's fast paced, fun, and a good way to find out who is going to spas out under pressure.

The set-up is really simple, you and 3 others are some of the survivors of what people call "The infection" that turns people into brainless zombies. To kill the zombies you get some guns and some grenades, I told you it was simple. There are several kinds of zombies to shoot

  • The regular infected, not much to say.
  • Smokers, constrict you with their long tongue.
  • Hunters, who leap great distances.
  • Witches, who cry in the middle of the road and goes on a rampage if you get to close.
  • And the tank, this one's tough to beat, deals great damage and has lots of health.
When you lose your health you have to wait until a team mates helps you up.

That is one of the major problems with the game, the AI. You see, when you are being smashed to death by a tank your team mates try to heal you with a med kit, that takes quite long. Before you are healed by said team mate the tank has smashed you and him to death. This is the main reason you should play this game in multiplayer, humans can think rationally.

Speaking of thinking, Valve has created a new technology called the "AI director". Basically it's the program that spawns the hordes, because when you are doing to good at the game, it throws millions of zombies at you to slow you down. However, this is compensated by the fact that pistols have unlimited ammo, and you find ammo for the other weapons quite frequently(depending on how good you are).

The graphics are also nice, not great because it still runs on the Valve game engine, but still pretty good. Overall it's a nice game that can be enjoyed hours upon hours, that is if you play online.

Overall review

  • Game play Left 4 Dead game play
The AI Director brings variation throughout the game, on - or offline.

  • Story Left 4 Dead story
There's some story, its just hard to follow, basically its just "got there" and "shoot this".

  • Graphics Left 4 Dead game graphics
Graphics are based on the Valve Source engine, so not to pretty but not bad either.

Left 4 Dead 2 - Game Review
Left 4 Dead 2 - Game Review The quick release of Left 4 Dead 2 shocked me a bit. Valve usually takes it's sweet time making a game, which made me wonder if L4D2 was finished whatsoever. 6 months after L4D1 valve announced L4D2, and 6 months later it was released.

Left 4 Dead1 VS Left 4 Dead 2 Since the announcement of L4D2 being released and priced as a full game there has been a bit of commotion surrounding the game. People calling themselves ''boycotters'' (also known as retards), tried to convince valve to make it an update for the existing L4D, or a DLC.

Borderlands - Game Review
Borderlands - Game Review Right... Borderlands, the new RPS (Role Playing Shooter) from 2K games and gearbox software. The game was released on October 30 2009 and hit the stores pretty hard, there was a shortage in just 3 days for the PS3, Xbox 360 AND PC, but with good reason.

The Orange Box - Game Review When you order the orange box that's what your going to get, an orange box. But what's even more important is what's inside the box. Because, inside, there are some of the best games ever made: Half life 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2.
